The Sweet Life, Regenerative Beekeeping
At Bee Boys, we practice regenerative beekeeping methods, allowing the bees to return to themselves. Our relationship with honeybees is built on this principle, and always reflected in our product line.
As beekeepers, we've come to understand that life in the colony is sacred and delicate. It's important that we allow the honeybees to keep the colony order as they desire. For this reason, our apiary practices are as follows:
Our apiary is 100% treatment free.
We encourage hygienic behavior in our bees.
We allow our bees to raise their own queens.
Bees are encouraged to constantly build their own comb.
Bees are allowed to swarm.
Absolutely no plastic in the hives, this includes plastic frames, feeders and any component of the hive.
We do not paint beehives.
We refrain from pesticide and herbicide use.
We do not feed bees.
We do not move bees for pollination services, or to nectar sources.
We follow biodynamic principles and apply instinctual beekeeping methods.
At Bee Boys, we make products with social and environmental impact. Your purchase directly supports the honey bees and our beekeepers. Hawaii farmers supply Bee Boys with raw materials & quality ingredients, whenever possible. We love using local ingredients, pollinated by our bees in our product line! We feel this is a unique practice that highlights beekeeping, food production, and value added goods -brought to you by the honey bees.
Our NEW Apiary Alchemy line celebrates our deep connection with the healing animate forces, in natures honeybee..
Ryan Williamson, Apiary Alchemist - ‘ i am a honeybee now’
by Rudyard Kipling
Bees! Bees! Hark to your bees!
'Hide from your neighbours as much as you please,
But all that has happened, to us you must tell,
Or else we will give you no honey to sell!'
A Maiden in her glory,
Upon her wedding-day,
Must tell her Bees the story,
Or else they'll fly away.
Fly away - die away -
Dwindle down and leave you!
But if you don't deceive your Bees,
Your Bees will not deceive you.
Marriage, birth or buryin',
News across the seas,
All you're sad or merry in,
You must tell the Bees.
Tell 'em coming in an' out,
Where the Fanners fan,
'Cause the Bees are justabout
As curious as a man!
Don't you wait where trees are,
When the lightnings play;
Nor don't you hate where Bees are,
Or else they'll pine away.
Pine away - dwine away -
Anything to leave you!
But if you never grieve your Bees,
Your Bees'll never grieve you!
